Your worktop sides
Measure each side wall to wall, and we'll take the corners off for you. Standard base units give a worktop about 620 mm deep.
Island, peninsula or breakfast bar
Anything that isn't against a wall. Add as many as you need — these are cut as whole pieces, so no corners come off them.
Sink, hob and taps
Tell us which side each one sits on. They can share a side. The side with the sink is the one we keep in a single piece wherever we can.
Upstands and splashbacks
Tick these against each side above. An upstand is a short lip of stone where the worktop meets the wall. A full-height splashback fills the whole gap up to your wall units, and runs taller behind the hob.
Window sills
Stone sills cut from the same slab, so they match the worktop.

Stone is unforgiving and you're spending real money on it. So we put the awkward things in writing rather than hoping you don't ask.
You approve the layout first
Nothing is cut until you've seen where the joins fall and said yes. Joins are the thing people regret, so we never decide them for you.
The price is fixed at template
Once we've laser-measured, the price is the price. No "we found another cutout" three days before fitting.
Your offcuts are yours
You paid for the whole slab. If there's a usable piece left we'll cut you a chopping board or a shelf from it, free, if you want one.
Ten-year material warranty
Manufacturer warranty on quartz, plus twelve months on our workmanship. Fixed by us, not argued about.
The things people actually ring up and ask
How much does a kitchen worktop actually cost?
Most kitchens we do land between £1,700 and £3,200 fitted, in quartz. A single galley run comes in at the bottom of that, an L-shape with an island at the top. The calculator above will give you a real range for your kitchen in about two minutes.
The reason nobody quotes a simple price per metre is that stone is sold by the slab. A 3.1 m run and a 3.3 m run can be hundreds of pounds apart, because one fits on a slab and the other doesn't.
Why does the size of my kitchen change the price so sharply?
Because you buy whole slabs, not square metres. A slab is roughly 3.2 m by 1.6 m. If your pieces fit on one, you pay for one. Go a few centimetres over and you're buying a second slab — even if you only need a small piece of it.
This is exactly why we show you the cutting plan. Sometimes moving a join by 40 mm saves you the best part of a thousand pounds, and you'd never know unless someone showed you.
Will there be a join in my worktop?
If any single run is longer than about 3.1 m, yes — that's the limit of the slab, not our workmanship. The calculator tells you where the joins fall, and you get to move them before we cut.
A well-made join in quartz is a dark line about the width of a hair. In heavily veined stone it's more visible, which is one reason we ask whether you want the veining matched.
What's the difference between quartz and granite for a kitchen?
Quartz is engineered — ground stone bound in resin. It's non-porous, so it never needs sealing, and the colour is consistent from slab to slab, which is why we can price it instantly. It doesn't like sustained heat, so use a trivet.
Granite and marble are quarried. Every slab is different, which is the appeal and also why we price them by hand. Granite handles heat better; marble is softer and will patinate — beautiful if you want that, frustrating if you don't.
How long does the whole thing take?
Templating happens once your base units are fitted and level — we can't measure off a drawing, because kitchens are never quite square. From template to fitting is usually about ten days. Fitting itself is a single visit, normally half a day.
Do I need my old worktops removed first?
Yes, before we template. We can take them away on the fitting day, but the old tops need to be off and the units level before we can measure. Tell us when you get in touch and we'll say honestly whether it's a job worth paying someone for.
Is the price on this page the price I'll pay?
It's a genuine range, worked out from the same numbers we use internally — your slab count, our fabrication cost and your distance from us. It isn't a teaser rate that doubles later.
It becomes a fixed price once we've templated, because that's the first point at which anyone actually knows the real measurements. If templating shows the job is smaller than you thought, the price comes down.
What happens to the stone left over?
You've paid for the whole slab, so anything usable is yours if you want it. Tell us before we cut and we'll turn a decent offcut into a chopping board, a shelf or a windowsill at no charge — it's much harder to do once the slab has been broken down.
